A Scottish Destination Wedding Planner Can Make Your Dreams Come True!
Stylish Scottish-Italian Destination Castle Wedding - Lisa and EDO
Whiskey, thistles, kilts, bagpipes and a 19th century castle. Lisa and Edo dreamt of a classic Scottish wedding and, well, it turns out dreams really can come true.
Scottish Destination Wedding Planner
Lisa is Scottish, Edo is Italian and they live out in Dubai. So it wasn’t all that surprising when they got in touch and asked for me to help out with planning their stylish Scottish destination wedding. They’d ‘done the legal bit’ at home in Dubai and were travelling to Scotland for a big winter wedding celebration surrounded by their family and friends.
Drumtochty Castle was the ideal venue for them, a 19th century castle surrounded by ancient woodland. It ticked all their boxes, with plenty of accommodation and a quintessentially Scottish feel.
For Edo and his wedding party the wedding day began with clay pigeon shooting and a few tipples of whiskey. Spirits were high and there was a lot of good natured banter. Meanwhile, back up at the castle there was a far more tranquil atmosphere. Lisa looked the very picture of style and class with classic Hollywood style waves in her hair and a beautifully detailed two piece Galia Lahav dress. Not to be outdone, Edo looked very dapper in his tartan trews and thistle buttonhole by the fab Kim Dalglish.
Winter Wedding Celebrations at drumtochty Castle
As Lisa and Edo finished getting ready, their guests were already making their way down to the castle gates, where Drumtochy’s picturesque church can be found. Nestled in Drumtochty glen, St Palladius is like something out of a fairy tale with tall towers and stunning, historical architecture.
In classic Scottish wedding style it had stayed dry all morning, but as guests strolled up the church pathway the heavens opened and it began tipping it down. Luckily umbrellas were close to hand and the weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. The guests were a real international crowd, coming from all over the world, and were really experiencing Scotland in its true sense in terms of the weather!
Kim had worked her floral magic inside the church as well, creating a wonderfully autumnal arch for the ceremony. I love her wild and natural styling, from the bridal bouquet to the church flowers and the florals back up at the castle. Everything really complimented Lisa and Edo’s vision for their day.
Following their wedding blessing it was time to head back up to the castle and kick the wedding celebrations off with confetti, thrown inside of course due to the downpours. The always brilliant Emma Lawson captured one of the wildest confetti shots I’ve ever seen. There was cheering, tons of confetti and a lot of laughter. Shout out to Lawson Films too for creating an amazing wedding film. So many incredible memories for Lisa and Edo to look back on.
After dinner there were sparklers outside - thankfully the rain had eased off - before everyone hit the dancefloor. Cue heart shaped sunglasses, a change of dress for Lisa (a glorious slinky number complete with ostrich feathers) and a crowd of friends celebrating into the wee small hours. Lisa and Edo sure know how to throw a party!
